FFNM Past Virtual Workshop: Employer-Based Child Care
Employer-Based Child Care
Understand the Business Case and How to Get Started
The pandemic has placed a spotlight on the link between child care and the economy, and employers are now being called upon to facilitate the needs of a workforce that is in high-demand. One third of the U.S workforce (50 million workers) has a child under 14 in their household and nearly 20% of workers surveyed have had to leave work or reduce working hours due to a lack of childcare. Workplace policies that help bridge this gap function as a competitive advantage for recruitment and retention. This workshop will offer a panel discussion on the business case and different options for how to provide employer-based childcare.
Learning Objectives:
- Facilitate an understanding of the current needs of the caregiving workforce
- Promote knowledge of how to utilize resources that are available to employers
- Offer real-life examples of employer-based child care
